ABOUT MINDFI

MindFi is a B2B mental wellbeing company. Our sales strategy involved selling app subscriptions to companies under the Learning and Development budget. Our key selling points include live classes, teaching employees how to manage their wellbeing, short meditation tracks for staying in the moment and tools for focussing on work.
TASK: DESIGN A 'WELLBEING ASSESSMENT' FEATURE

We wanted to implement a 'wellbeing assessments' feature in app as part of a 2-week sprint. This feature would be incorporated into the existing app for users to measure their wellbeing with science-backed questionnaires. These self-reported questionnaires could measure stress, anxiety, loneliness, presenteeism and more. The goal is to share aggregated data of organisational wellbeing with clients. This way, clients can keep track of their employees' mental wellbeing and introduce appropriate measures in caring for their needs.

DESIGN CRITERIA
- Short;
- Science-backed;
- Encourage frequent re-attempts;
- Provide users with before-after results comparison and suggestions for improving their mental health.
RESEARCH PROCESS

First, we conducted research on the list of science-backed, self reported questionnaires that were appropriate for use in the MindFi app. After narrowing down to a list of 10 questionnaires, we reached out to various parties to obtain licensing rights for in app usage.
EXPLORE PAGE DESIGN

I decided that this feature would go best in the 'Explore' page, hence added an 'Assess' tab beside pre-existing features like live classes (Watch) and meditation tracks (Practise).
The quizzes were presented in a card format, with the 2 of most generic quizzes (about general wellbeing and stress) in the 'featured' category. Other specific quizzes such as those measuring anxiety, loneliness, self-compassion and productivity were parked under 'State of Mind' or 'Lifestyle'. Important information such as 'time needed to complete' and 'last taken' dates were worked into the card design.
QUIZ INTRODUCTION PAGE DESIGN

When users click into any of the quiz cards, they see a short writeup about what the quiz measures and what it is based on. There is a disclaimer note at the bottom to reassure users that their data will be kept confidential - a concern some users might have given MindFi is a B2B subscription.
QUESTION PAGE DESIGN*

I chose a simple, rounded interface for the question page design to ease cognitive overload. The status bar at the top informs users of their progress.

RESULTS PAGE DESIGN*

At the end of the quiz, an informal diagnosis is offered to users where they receive advice on which areas of their wellbeing they can work on. A scoring out of 100 is obtained and users are informed of where they stand among all MindFi users who attempted the same quiz, giving them a better idea of the severity of their condition. This way, users who experience poor wellbeing can consider getting professional help.

Reattempts are encouraged as push notifications are sent once every 2 weeks. In this way, users can monitor their wellbeing over a period of time.
